Safaricom Marathon

The Safaricom Marathon is a huge adventure on a tough but stunning course in The Lewa Wildlife Conservany, Kenya.  Founded by Tusk, it’s now in it’s 25th year attracting around 1200 people from over 20 countries.  It’s the only marathon in the world that takes place in a game reserve.

Poaching has decimated Elephant and Rhino populations the length and breadth of Africa. TUSK is at the forefront of the battle to save them before there are none left in the wild.

TUSK also puts its weight behind the alleviation of poverty and environmental education in rural communities. Training and education are keys to conservation for the future.

The course consists of two loops covering 21km with an average altitude of 5500ft.  Temperatures range from 13 degrees in the morning and reaches a staggering 35 degrees in the afternoon.

Tim Best Direct’s founder, Tim Best is running the Safaricom on the 27th June.  If you are willing to donate please follow this Click here.

Good Luck Tim!
