Trek Mt Kilimanjaro

Depart London on an overnight flight to Kilimanjaro Airport via Amsterdam.  Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your lodge where your Kilimanjaro private guide will introduce himself and brief you on the forthcoming climb.

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa reaching 5,895m.  Kibo is the highest cone and Uhuru Peak is the highest point – the roof of Africa!  There are seven official trekking routes up the mountain of varying difficulty: Lemosho, Machame, Marangu, Mweka, Rongai, Shira and Umbwe.  Choosing the easier trek means it is not technically challenging, however, remember the altitude and climate make it a relatively difficult and potentially dangerous, which shouldn’t be taken lightly.  Preparation in terms of fitness, is essential.  You will spend seven days climbing, staying in various camps along the way, reaching the summit on day six.

A welcome driver will come and meet you at your last pit stop and transfer you to a near by lodge for a well-deserved rest.  Your private guide will meet you the next day to drive you to Tarangire National Park where you will spend the next four nights.  Tarangire National Park is a little gem in the Northern Tanzania safari circuit.  Less well known than its big brother, the Serengeti, Tarangire boasts the next greatest concentration of wildlife.  The herds of elephant and buffalo are surprisingly large, often in their hundreds, especially in the dry season from July – October.
