The Serengeti and Vamizi Island

Depart London on an overnight flight to Nairobi.  Transfer to an eco safari lodge adjacent to Nairobi Safari Park, set into the side of a hill overlooking the valley.

Today, fly to Kogatende in the very north of the Serengeti where you will be met and driven to your lodge, perhaps spotting game along the way.  The wildebeest migration normally arrives in late June and remains until October and is an amazing wildlife spectacle.  Your guide will take you to the optimum viewing spots and explain the whole phenomenon.  However, even during the dry season, the plains stay lush and green, which means that the resident game remain in the area.  You can see zebra, topi, gazelles, impala, buffalo and giraffe throughout the year.  Other activities include a very inviting swimming pool with wonderful views, game-walking (for over 12’s only), taking scenic drives and visiting local communities to learn about the various education and other initiatives.

Board a flight to Tanzania’s capital Dar es Salaam where you will stay one night.  The next morning, take a private charter flight direct to Vamizi Island arriving in time for lunch and a dip in the sea.  Vamizi is a tropical island paradise deep within the Quirimbas Archipelago of Northern Mozambique.  The island has six beautifully designed private villas each with its own team of staff, a garden, private swimming pool  and each built facing the sea on their own stretch of pristine beach.  Vamizi offers a world of activities on both land and at sea, so take your pick, or simply relax taking in magnificent views.

Today, leave your paradise island and fly to Nairobi to connect with the flight back to London Heathrow.
