The Inca Trail and Lake Titicaca

Take the direct BA flight from London Gatwick to Lima, Peru.  Upon arrival, be met and driven to the hotel where you will spend the next two nights.  Explore Lima and the many Pre-Columbian museums and galleries.

Transfer back to Lima Airport to board a short flight to Cuzco.  Once freshened up in your hotel and had a bite to eat, head out to explore the ancient Inca capital of Cuzco.  Lose yourselves in the maze of cobbled streets and marvel at the blend of traditional culture and modern life working side by side.

Begin your trek to Machu Picchu with other travellers, accompanied by expert guides.  Taking small groups on lesser travelled routes through the Sacred Valley, the itinerary combines trekking with culture.  Each day there is a group activity and then optional treks or cultural visits such as visits to local market towns, community initiatives and archaeological sites.

Return by train to Cuzco and treat yourself to a well-earned spa treatment in your hotel.  The next morning, fly south to be greeted by the team from the eco-luxury lodge where you will be staying for the next four nights.  The lodge is located in a private nature reserve in the heart of the jungle.

Return to Cuzco for the night before taking a train south to Lake Titicaca.  The journey is ten hours and takes you through beautiful scenery.  Upon arrival you will be driven to your hotel near Lake Titicaca.  The largest lake in South America, Lake Titicaca is also the highest in the world.  The name translates to Rock of Puma and refers to the shape of the lake that looks like a puma hunting a rabbit.  It is enshrouded in mystical stories and beliefs, being referred to as the birthplace of the sun and the Incas.

Transfer to Juliaca Airport for a flight to Lima where you will connect onto the direct flight back to London Gatwick.
