Grand Teton and Yellowstone

On your descent into Jackson Hole Airport, admire the aerial view of the Grand Teton Mountain Range.  Transfer to Jackson, a western style town with characterful swinging saloon door bars and wooden walkways.  Away from the town, take a boat ride down Snake River spotting wildlife along the way.  There is also trout fishing and many other excursions in and around Jackson Town.

Today, venture into Grand Teton National Park.  Snake River runs through the valley floor and attracts much wildlife including moose, antelope and sage grouse. Drive to the top of Signal Mountain and view the stunning panoramic of the park.  From here a further hike can be arranged.  Continue the drive in the afternoon, north to Yellowstone National Park and check-in to one of the two historic hotels.

For the next few days, immerse yourself in the incredible landscape of Yellowstone.  Located on the rim of a super-volcano, there are over ten thousand geothermal features including geysers and hot springs, exploring these is a thrilling experience.  Here too, find diverse and thriving wildlife – wolf packs, bison herds, black bears and grizzlies to name a few.  Go out in a 4×4 vehicle with an experienced guide and enjoy this unique environment.

A scenic drive today, heading north into southern Montana to Paradise Valley.  Drive along the Yellowstone River admiring the wide open spaces and small farms and towns, a contrast from Yellowstone.   Spend the evening in the relaxing Chico Hot Springs.   The next day is spent on the Yellowstone River. Fly fishing is excellent here with the best trout streams in America.  If fishing is not your thing, there are plenty of other activities to choose from.

From Paradise Valley take a leisurely drive stopping en-route to try a traditional Bison burger.  Arrive at the town of Red Lodge that has the enviable location of being between the Beartooths and Absarokas Mountain Ranges.  A nature lovers dream, these ranges are dramatic and beautiful with glacial lakes and tarns, meadows and huge plateaus and peaks.  However you decide to explore the mountains, you’ll be sure to feel restored and energised by the fresh air and beauty.

Drive South on the Beartooth Pass to the town of Cody. Home to Buffalo Bill, you will find the best rodeo and stampede shows put on throughout the summer months.

Loop back through Yellowstone National Park and onto Jackson where you board the flight to London, via Salt Lake City.
