Day 1 - 2 - London - Cairo - Entebbe
On arrival into Entebbe airport you will transfer to a nearby hotel. Once freshened up, take a private tour to Bulago Island, one of the 84 islands of the Ssese archipelago. A 500 acre island of white sandy beaches, cliffs, tropical forests and sweeping grasslands.
-
Day 3 - 5 - ENTEBBE - BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST
After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport in time for your scheduled flight up to Kisoro. Spend three fascinating days tracking mountain gorillas with experienced guides in the Bwindi National Park. Tracking does requires stamina and can take anything from 1 – 10hrs. You must be prepared to trek through muddy, steep rainforest. It can be hard work but the reward of spending time with the gorillas makes it all eminently worthwhile.
-
Day 6 - 9 - BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST - SERENGETI
This morning you will return to Entebbe Airport and board a charter flight to the Serengeti. The next few days will be filled with game viewing in and around the short grass plains of the Serengeti. Stretching over 5,000 square miles, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for the annual migration of over 2 million wildebeest, zebra and Thomson’s Gazelle – the largest animal migration in the world. As well as the migration, the Serengeti has a host of resident game, including excellent populations of elephant, lion, cheetah and leopard.
-
Day 10 - 13 - Serengeti - Mahale
Leave behind the Serengeti and fly West to the Mahale Mountains National Park that stretches for 1,613 square kms, and has no roads. The only way in is by boat, plane or on foot. It is one of only two protected areas for chimpanzees in Tanzania, and has the largest population. As well as the chimps, the park is harbours many other animals, including bushbuck, bushpig, nine species of primate and a very wide array of birds and butterflies.
-
Day 14 - 15 - Mahale - Kilimanjaro - London
Depart Mahale arriving in Kilimanjaro where a day-room has been arranged so you can freshen up and relax before your overnight flight back to London via Nairobi in the evening.
