Desert Safari

On arrival in Johannesburg, transfer to Windhoek Airport to board a charter flight to the NamibRand Nature Reserve where you will be met and driven to the camp.  The NamibRand Reserve is a vast privately owned reserve covering almost 200,000 hectares bordering the Namib Naukluft Park.  As well as the incredible landscape, the reserve is home to an amazing array of desert adapted flora and fauna, fascinating archeological sites and history not to mention the fairy circles and mesmerising night skies. Activities include scenic drives, walking safaris, hot-air ballooning , horse riding and star-gazing – to name a few!

Fly from the local airstrip to southern Damaraland, a vast, beautiful and unspoilt wilderness of unsurpassed desert scenery, unusual geological formations, interesting archaeological sites and a unique variety of desert fauna and flora.  Visit the Twyfelfontein to see the ancient rock engravings and the incredible Organ Pipes, game drives to see the rare desert adapted elephants, nature walks and lounging by the pool.

This morning, a private charter plane transfers you north-west to Kaokoland, one of the wildest and least populated areas in Namibia with the Himba people counting for 5,000 of the 16,000 population.  Activities revolve around exploring the surrounding area by nature drives, guided walks in Hartmann’s valley, guided quad bike excursions, boating on the Kunene and visits to the Himba Community.

Transfer in the morning by a private charter plane to Okonjima Nature Reserve.  Once settled in, head out for an early evening game drive.  As well as cheetah, leopard and wild dog, the reserve is home to a huge amount of game, ranging from wildebeest and zebra, to aardvark and pangolin, to over 250 species of birds.

After an early breakfast transfer to the airstrip in time for your charter flight back to Windhoek Airport.  Connect onto a flight back to London Heathrow via Johannesburg.
