African Safari

On arrival in Nairobi you will be met and transferred to a hotel located close to the airport in order to board a flight the next day to Lewa.  The Lewa Conservancy is a private 62,000-acre estate of savannah and bush on the northern slopes of Mt Kenya.  The ‘big five’ – lion, leopard, elephant, Cape buffalo and rhino – can be seen here as well as a variety of game such as zebra, giraffe, eland and different gazelle.  The conservancy provides a sanctuary for both black and white rhino.

This morning you will be transferred to the area of Laikipia via charter plane where you will be met and transferred to your luxury tents.  A huge range of activities are on offer, from game drives and walking safaris which can be focused on specific interests such as photography, tracking game on foot, following specific species and studying animal behaviour.  If you are interested, you can learn about Lewa’s collaboration with Tusk Trust (the conservation charity, whose Patron is Prince William).

Today you will make the journey to the exclusive Siana Conservancy that lies adjacent to Masai Mara, on its southern side.  The Siana Conservancy, is regarded as one of the wildlife jewels of Kenya.  Enjoy three full days with many activities, including hiking, spectacular bird watching, game drives and hot air ballooning.
