Adventures in the Rainforest

Depart on an overnight flight to Kota Kinabalu, Borneo connecting in Kuala Lumpur.  Arrive in time for lunch at a beautiful and peaceful hotel.  The next day explore Kinabalu National Park with an experienced guide.  A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park is one of the most biologically diverse places in the world.  End the day with a dip in the natural hot springs.

Take a short flight to Sandakan to visit the Orangutan Rehabilitation Sanctuary in Sepilok.  An unforgettable experience, you can watch and feed these magnificent creatures whilst they are on their journey of learning how to survive in the wild.  In the afternoon, travel by boat up the Kinabatangan River (spotting for monkey and wildlife en-route) to a luxury jungle lodge.  Here spend the next days exploring the area.  Activities include canopy walks (great for birding), guided walks, swimming in waterfalls, tubing on the Danum River and resting in a luxurious spa.

After a four hour drive, reach the Danum Valley, an area of pristine rainforest.  Admire the flora and fauna, birding, trekking, night drives and monkeys.

Leave the rainforest behind and fly back to Kota Kinabalu where you transfer to Gaya Island.  For the next four nights, relax at a beautiful, luxurious eco resort.  Activities include snorkelling and diving, sunset cruises, spa, marine conservation centre, kayaking through mangroves, jungle walks, flora and fauna, birding, monkeys, squirrels and bearded pigs.

Return journey to London Heathrow connecting at Kuala Lumpur.
